Do the lyrics copy the original song?

No. The lyrics are written from scratch. The reference is used only for theme, mood and energy — same emotional territory, completely different words.

Why is there no artist name in the style prompt?

Suno and Udio reject prompts that name an artist. Songsmelt describes the sound instead — instruments, tempo feel, vocal type and production era — which is what actually steers the generator.

Does it work with any song?

Any public YouTube link works, including Shorts and YouTube Music. Well-known songs give the richest analysis; for obscure tracks Songsmelt works from the title, channel and whatever genre signals it can find.

What if I do not have a specific song in mind?

Use the Quick Preset Genres above, type any genre into the "More" field, or open the ready-made packs for 28 genres.

Do I need the browser extension?

No, the site does everything on its own. The extension just saves you the copy-paste: it puts a Songsmelt button next to Like and Share on YouTube so a pack is one click away.
